The OTG Otters had a very successful inaugural season, making the Grand Final and losing by one goal, which was scored in the final minute. It was a pleasure to be a part of the Club’s foundation, and seeing our early success in the pool has spurred on all the Otters to go one better this season.
What I am most proud of, however, is the culture that we have managed to cultivate at this young club in just one short season. Striking a balance between social and serious water polo, the Otters are a delight to play and train with and I feel the group embodies the values of integrity and mateship that Trinity as a community has become known for.
We are now well into the summer season, but I encourage any new players who wish to be involved in the Club during the 2017 season to register their interest with me and even begin coming down to some training sessions at the Dam (AKA the Trinity Pool). New members are always welcome.

OTG Soccer
As the 2016 season draws to a close, the Old Trinity Grammarians’ Soccer Club celebrates a successful year, with the club enjoying a number of fantastic results on and off the field. Our coaching staff has done an incredible job leading the teams. At the time of writing, the OTGSC Reserves are in 1st position, with only two games left to play, while the Seniors sit in a comfortable 5th position.

The OTGSC Thirds and Fourths have also performed extremely well. The Thirds are sitting in a convincing 2nd position with only three losses so far this season and will likely get promoted, while our Fourths team is currently on top of the league. The Club is incredibly proud of its success so far and we hope that we can carry through the same sort of performances to the end of the year.
The first ever OTGSC Women’s team has proved to be a huge success. On the field, the players are giving it their all, and have managed to put together quite a few positive results in their first ever season. Their work ethic and commitment to the team is something that the Club very much admires and we are certain that the women’s team will only improve and grow in the future.
Off the field, there have been a number of extremely successful social events, including our Parents and Friends Trivia Night, the annual OTGSC Lawn Bowls Day, and also our incredible Amazing Race and Season Launch. These social events have been a fantastic way to bring all five teams closer together and also to provide players with a great setting for catching up with old friends. In a few weeks we have our Annual Trivia Night, and our Presentation Night, two events which boast an attendance of over 200 people, and which always prove to be spectacular.
Although we’re at the end of the 2016 season, we urge any past students, family members or friends of the Trinity and Ruyton communities who may be interested in joining any of our teams, to contact our Co-President Francesco Carosella for more details. OTGSC is a fantastic way of continuing your connection with the Trinity community and enjoying some soccer with mates!

Henry Winter being chaired off by the Firsts
The Firsts have regained their mojo. Skipper Brendan Iezzi has led from the front, ably supported by the entire team, which prides itself on its overall evenness and complete lack of ‘passengers’. Coach Adam Andrews and his cohort have won their way into the Grand Final with a resounding 10-goal victory over Uni Blues. The 8-goal second quarter set up the win.
While Speros Beasley's Development Team has continued to improve, unfortunately, they lost their first Semi-Final. Congratulations are in order for Thirds coach Steve Woodward whose players were very impressive in achieving a nail-biting, come-from-behind win in their Grand Final.
The Under 19s had a challenging year on many fronts – especially due to injuries and unavailability - but coach Evan MacDonald should be pleased with his efforts and those of his team. This is a dynamic group which should benefit in 2017 from an influx of school leavers.
All in all, there is much to look forward to. By the time this goes to print, we will know if history has been made in Premier Division.

This year has been a fairly quiet, yet productive year for OTG Theatre as we re-form and look towards our next exciting production. Planning is already getting underway for our next performance, to be held in the first half of next year. An announcement on this will be made in the coming months – so watch this space!
We have welcomed several new members to our committee, but, as always, we are seeking more passionate people to join our vibrant group. Whether you just graduated from the School last year, or 20 years ago, we are looking for you! Being on the committee is not only a rewarding experience, but also a great way to continue your relationship with the School through theatre.

OTG Cricket
The 2016-17 cricket season is fast approaching and the Old Trinity Grammarians' Cricket Club is looking to recruit new players for its two teams. The Club plays on turf in the MCC Club XI Competition against old rivals including Xavier, Scotch and Melbourne Grammar. All ages and abilities are welcome.
