VicRoads Vacation Program

We offer summer vacation employment anytime between October and March and may consider other placements when Universities are on semester break.

VicRoads’ Vacation Employment Program is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience what is like to work in an organisation that delivers a wide range of projects and programs while gaining on-the-job learning and training opportunities and the best of all you get paid! Our Vacation program takes place during your summer university break and commencement dates can be modified to meet individual needs. We try to give preference to students who are currently in their penultimate year of study but welcome applications from second year onwards (depending on the length of their course).

We are accepting applications from university students currently completing a bachelor degree in the following disciplines:

• Accounting/Finance

• Engineering

  • Civil

  • Electrical and Electronic

  • Mechatronics

  • Geomatic

  • Environmental

• Environmental Science

• Commerce/Business

• Information Management and Technology

You must currently be a university student completing a degree in any of the fields listed above at an Australian university. Ideally you will be studying in both semesters either side of the vacation period and you are an Australian permanent resident or citizen.

VicRoads may ask for your consent to check records maintained by Police, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and VicRoads as a part of the selection process. Information provided to VicRoads will be managed in accordance with our recruitment privacy statement. 

Vacation students will be paid $40,955 p.a. plus 9.5% superannuation, on a pro rata basis for the period of employment.

Recruitment for the 2019-2020 Vacation Program will commence in approximately July.
